Quilting 101 is a tutorial offered by members of SCVQA to help new and experienced members to become more familiar with a variety of quilting techniques. It is not associated with regular classes or visiting teachers.
Q101 sessions are usually held on the second Tuesday monthly. We meet in the social hall at Westhope Church. See below for the location map. Doors open at 9 AM for room and table set up, and the demo starts prompty at 10:30 AM. The ending time is 3:30 PM.
The cost is $10.00 per session.
Note that Quilting 101 now has the same "refund policies" that govern SCVQA's monthly workshops: There are no refunds unless someone replaces you from the waiting list. And there is no fee forwarding from month to month.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer your expertise, contact one of the Quilting 101 co-chairs, LaNelle at (408)252-4041 or Ileane at (408)356-3974.

November: Planned Improv, Scrappy Squares
Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 9:00 AM
This scrap friendly workshop is a great opportunity to explore improv piecing. We will follow a set of guidelines involving measurement and specific cutting rules to create the puzzle pieces students will use to design and create their own unique improv slab. Students will leave with their first finished improv slab (approximately 18 x 20), which can become a finished mini quilt or built upon for a larger project. Quilting ideas will be discussed.
Doors open at 9 AM for room and table set up, and the demo starts prompty at 10:30 AM. We need to exit the church by 3:30 pm.
