Entry Rules

  • You must be a current SCVQA member to enter a quilt in the show.
  • One entry per person is guaranteed to be in the show. Up to two additional entries may be hung as space allows.
  • Each entry must be submitted on a separate entry form.
  • You will be notified if your second or third entry cannot be hung. 
  • You are responsible for insuring your own entries.
  • Quilts must have a 4-inch hanging sleeve on the back. For more detail on creating a hanging sleeve, click here.
  • Quilts must have a paper Entry Label sewn to it. (Click here for the label or refer to the April newsletter.)
    • If an entry requires special hanging or handling, please email the information to quiltshow@scvqa.org by March 26, 2022.
    • The SCVQA photo policy will extend to the entries and participants of the Quilt Show.
      "Members of the Association consent to have their name, photos and likenesses of themselves and their work published by SCVQA in association with its work on social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), our web site, press, advertising, and in any publications SCVQA may produce from time to time."  We will encourage people to give appropriate credit if they use a photo of your quilt, but we cannot enforce a ban on photography.

    Important Dates

    BEFORE THE SHOW
    • March 12 through March 26.  Online Quilt Registration is open.  Click here to register your quilt.

    • March 26 (Saturday).  Last day to register your quilt and to indicate any special hanging or handling instructions.  As of March 28th, quilt entries are closed.

    • April 9 through April 16.  Quilt Depots are open to receive your entries. Depots have been changed slightly, up to date information can be found here.  No late deliveries will be accepted!

    AFTER THE SHOW
    • April 25 through 30.  Quilt Depots will be open for you to pick up your entry (entries).  Take your receipt to the Depot where you delivered your entry.  Entries will not be released without receipts.

    Appraisals

    American Quilter’s Society Certified Quilt Appraiser Nancy Bavor will be appraising antique, contemporary and art quilts at the SCVQA Quilt Show. 

    For an appraisal of a quilt hanging in the show, download the .pdf file and save it to your hard drive.  Fill out the Hanging Appraisal Form and return to Nancy with payment by April 15, 2022.

    For In-Person (not hanging in the show) Appraisals fill out (one form per quilt you want appraised) the In Person Contemporary  Pre-Appraisal Form  and/or Antique Quilt Pre-Appraisal Form  and return along with payment to Cherese Currier. Appointments will not be scheduled until payment is received. Appointments will be scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022.

    All payments to be made out to Nancy Bavor.

    Nancy will appraise your quilts for insurance purposes; each written appraisal is $75 per quilt and also includes care and conservation guidelines.
