PAST Quilt Challenge - WATER

It’s time for another quilt challenge! This time the theme is WATER. As we experience a drought, we are wishing we had more of it. So, think “water” as you design a small art quilt depicting water in any form—a drop, a glassful or a whole ocean.

These quilts will be displayed at our 2022 Quilt Show, Wrapped in Love. PIQF has also expressed interest in displaying these at their show in 2022! So we are hoping many of you will participate.

Challenge Quilt Guidelines

  • The art quilt must be an original design of any style. If you need inspiration, check out "water" and "water designs" on Pinterest
  • Any technique may be used.
  • It must be 12 inches by 15 inches, vertical orientation
  • It must have a top, batting, and backing, be quilted by hand or by machine, and have a finished edge.
  • Embellishments should not extend more than 1⁄2 inch from the surface.
  • A 4-inch sleeve must be sewn to the top of the quilt back.
  • Sew a label on the back with the quilt name, maker's name, town and year.
  • Deadline for entering your challenge quilt in the SCVQA quilt show is the end of March 2022.  Contact Karel Peer if you plan to participate, and email a picture when your quilt is finished.
