America the Beautiful
Thank you for all the wonderful submissions for our special exhibit at PIQF, "America the Beautiful". Stay tuned for the challenge for 2024 PIQF (July 2024).
We need your art to make our special exhibit at PIQF a success! This email contains all the details you need to sign up by July 31st, so we know you are participating. Quilts aren't due until September. They aren't very large and the theme is quite wide open to interpretation. Help us show off our guild to a local audience.
The theme for this art quilt challenge is “America the Beautiful” and any technique may be used. The first verse of the song will give you some subject and color ideas. Just one phrase from the song can inspire a quilt!

Quilt needs to be finished in September. A date will be announced when more show details are available.
AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
(Lyrics by Katharine Lee Bates from a poem written in 1893 Melody by Samuel Ward)
"O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!"
