Participation in Block Party involves creating the block announced in the month's Newsletter, and bringing it to the next meeting, or lately mailing your blocks to the organizer. A drawing is held for the collection of blocks. If there are enough blocks, there are multiple winners.
We have dozens of block patterns going back to 2013, you might find something inspiring, check out the past block patterns here .

At most scheduled meetings SCVQA offers things for sale of interest to quilt lovers. We are having quarterly Pop-Up Boutique sales that change location while we have suspended in person meetings.
Books, fabric, magazines and notions are for sale in the lobby before the meeting and in the break between the announcements and the speaker's presentation.
Fat Quarters and Yardage
100% cotton yardage for $2.00 per yard
100% cotton fat quarters for $0.50 each
Quilt Magazines and Books
Magazines $0.25 each
Books - prices vary, usually around $1.00
The boutique also offers other miscellaneous items. Be sure to show up early at meetings if you are interested in the great bargains of the SCVQA boutique!
Fat quarter frenzy is suspended for until in person meetings resume.
To participate, members bring in a fat quarter that fits the theme for the month. Each month will be a different color. A fat quarter is approximately 18"x22".
For every fat quarter you bring to the guild meeting your name goes into a drawing to win (e.g. bring in 5 fat quarters get 5 entries to win). You may bring as many fat quarters as you like.
The number of winners will be determined by the number of entries. Drop them off at the start of the meeting or during break, at the end of the break the winners will be drawn.
Small Quilt Groups
SCVQA has small quilt groups for members to participate in, from hand stitchers to machine sewers. These groups create their own schedules, choice of quilting projects and their own locations to meet. The Small Groups Coordinators, Cherese and Joyce, can help you get connected with a group welcoming new members.
