In April we will welcome Youngmin Lee, a Korean-born Bay Area quilter, who will speak about Bojagi, the Art of Wrapping Cloths.
Youngmin has a master’s degree in fashion design and a bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles. She has been on Alex Anderson’s The Quilt Show several times and has been a featured speaker at the Surface Design Association conference.
On April 25th Ms. Lee will talk about Bojagi, Korean wrapping cloths. These are possibly the most unique form of Korean textile art. The cloths can be described as a true form of abstract expressionism. They were used to wrap or carry just about everything from food, to clothing, to precious ritual objects.
