Our speaker for May, Jenny Haynes, is coming to us from her studio in England. Jenny’s label is Papper Sax Sten (paper, scissors, stone, in her native Swedish). Jenny studied fashion and textile design in London, and now teaches at the Victoria & Albert. Her bespoke quilts and furnishings are recognized for their clean and simple, mid-century modern design. Jenny mixes rich colors with pastels and is not scared of a color clash, often using her trademark curves together with solid fabrics, while remaining faithful to her Scandi’ roots.
Her 4-hour workshop, Skinny Inset Strips, will begin at 9 am the following day. Jenny will show us how she masters curved piecing and how you can do it, too. Skinny insets can give a hand drawn look around your curves. They can be used in planned quilts and improv techniques. Jenny's method is a no pin!
